The Mission of the Bridgewater Garden Club is to promote interest in all aspects of gardening, and to beautify, protect, and preserve the environment.
Recent topics have included Floral Design and Flower Arranging, Planting and Maintaining Terrariums, Proper Pruning Techniques, Worm Composting, Creative Landscape Design, Vegetable Gardening in Containers, Herb Gardening, and Growing Cacti and Succulents.
In keeping with our mission statement, our members participate in a number of community projects. At the Bridgewater Branch of the Somerset County Library, we plant and help maintain the plantings in the inner courtyard and the perennial garden at the entrance, provide horticultural displays for the customer service desk and wildlife displays for the children’s room, and conduct Saturday children’s programs and workshops. We participate in Bridgewater Township roadside clean up, provide floral arrangements for the Lyons VA Hospital, and decorate the Wellness Community Center for the Holidays.
Our Monthly Meetings
Most meetings are held at 9:30 am on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Somerset County Library, North Bridge St. & Vogt Drive, Bridgewater, NJ. For more information, go to our Calendar of Events.

Need a centerpiece for the table? The Bridgewater Garden Club offers "Using House Plants to Make Living Centerpieces" as a creative alternative to expensive flowers for a unique addition to your home. Bruce Crawford, Director of Rutgers Gardens and adjunct professor of Landscape Architecture, will share his knowledge and expertise using houseplants in this unusual way. Not a stranger to the process, Crawford uses living plants to create centerpieces for the home of Rutgers University’s president every two weeks. Crawford will share some fun facts, thoughts on design and knowledge from a wide-range of garden topics during the program Tuesday, April 24, 10:30 in the Bridgewater Public Library, Vogt Drive, Bridgewater. All are welcome to this free program. For more information about the club and future programs please visit the website Bridgewatergardenclub. org.
